Thank you JAE for your prompt answer, but in reading your comments something is not clear.
I have the ASCE 7-05, (the latest version) which in its paragraph §2.3 “Combining factored loads using strength design” (LRFD) writes:
Load Combination 5. reads 1.2D +1.0E
Load combination 7 reads 0.9D +...
An equipment vendor has given me data for sismic design of the equipment foundation based on “ASCE 7-95”, but I don't have this publication; can someone to tell me if the seismic forces under ASCE 7-95 are factored or not?
In case they are factored, according to UBC-97 (§1612.3.1) it must be...

I dont have this publication, therefore I wish someone to tell me if the seismic forces under ASCE 7-95 are factored or not factored.

For the design of a foundation for a combustion turbine and its generator, I need to asses the “Dinamic Shear Modules” (G) of a rock of marine origin in Venezuela, similar to the “Florida Key Stone” .
Is there anyone out there that can help providing me with the geological characteristics of the...
Thank you DENSAL55 for your comments and recommendation.
I have limited knowledge of dynamic analysis, nevertheless I’m documenting my self to digest the reason you posted that makes the proposed trick not viable.
As for your recommendation, its is clear and I’ll try it out.

A couple of days ago I posted in Murali27’s “Export from Etabs” thread in the SAFE forum more or less the following:
I have heard that there is another trick to solve the problem of exporting spectral analysis results from Etabs to Safe besides using equivalent static seismic load cases. I...
Murali27 and apostol
I have heard that there is another trick to solve the problem which I’ll be trying in the near future.
That is: run a static quake and the required spectrum analysis in the same Etabs model. The different output formats for both results will be seen in exportable Safe.f2k...
Careful, you may have to modify "Other parameters>Nonlinear Parameters>Geometric Nonlinearity Parameters>" to "P-Delta plus Large Displacements" in the Analysis Case "NLSTAT1".
More information in the Analysis Reference Manual Chapter XXI "Geometric Nonlinearity".
Forgot to suggest to remove the tension force from joint 3; add restraint "u1" to joint 3. Assign weight of traffic signal to "Tension" Load Case . Use the same Analyses Cases and run it. Example 1-016 has 7 different models, check out each one carefuly. Good luck!
I am working on a similar situation and the verification example 1-016 "Tension Stiffening Using P-Delta Analysis" in the SAP2000 v9 documentation has been quite helpful. Using the example model, I suggest you lower the midspan joint and hang the traffic signal from it and see what kind of axial...

On the flat slabs of a 3 story building, no beams, I have drawn several lines with no properties assigning uniform loads to all so as to model the DL of masonry nonstructural partition walls; some lines are joined to columns points, others are not. After running the model I get...
In on-line "Sap2000 Help" look up "Import AutoCAD dxf dwg File". Following the given instructions, draw in Autocad whatever geometrical shape stair slab you need, then import it to SAP.
