Hello, I would like to implement an MOV on the input of a PLC. Can anyone provide me with links to good information on how to specify one? I want to protect the PLC from line voltage (120vac) transients.
thanks
FYI.....after speaking with ABB, I'm told that as long as the motor is started under a reasonable load, that although the ramp time may be shorter, it will work. It will work with little or no load as well with a decreased ramp time even still.
I finally ran the thing with a slight load, and...
Oh, sorry about that.....will the softstarter with the higher current rating (6.1a) control a motor ok that's only running at 2.8a....the smaller model SS max current is 3.4a....but I can't get my hands on one in time.....
I've seen quite a few topics on SS here, but my question goes unanswered....I have an ABB softstarter with a max motor current rating of 6.1A, and I need to control a motor at 480v with an FLA of 2.8A. I seem to remember being told that the circuit in the softstarter has a current 'window' in...
permanent magnet....I think Keith found the ideal solution...Robotpower has a nice OSMC that sounds perfect.
Thank you AGAIN Keith!!
I'm surprised finding a seemingly simple solution to reversing a DC motor is such a pain....are low voltage ('high' current) DC motor systems just not that popular?
24VDC 1/2hp 60FLA Motor roughly 20s duty cycle
Having hard time finding a DC contactor(need reversing, but non will be ok for now).
If I use 2 SPDT contactors in parrallel (in order to reverse the motor), one passing the '+' and the other '-', would I be ok with a 400A NO / 200A NC inrush...
I hope I understood your request correctly (to reply in THIS thread :) )
Ok, so this guy wanted a cordless lcd picture frame? Ok...
After some looking around, I've learned that the car battery is a pretty solid dude. Lets see if I have this right:
A 225 reserve capacity provides 25A for 225...
I need to come up with a battery backup charging system using a solar panel. The batteries will be running a 1.3HP DC motor with an FLA of about 60 amps. The battery will be a couple of car batteries in series.
Using the 20% ROT, I figure I need around a 300W charger. However, most solar...
I don't like the spring clamp style because they seem to depend on the strength of the spring. When you screw down the box style on a wire, you know it's tight, and if you're not comfortable with whether you've got the wire or the insulation, you can pull it out and it's very clear what got...
on a (for example) 2HP 3phase 208-230/460v motor data sheet, it has 'none' listed under the SFA, would it be because they didn't test for it, or it's the same as the FLA? I can't imagine why they wouldn't list it. I couldn't get an acceptable answer out of the reps I deal with, and would...
