Thanks all for the input,
Traditionally these tanks have been drained and then are refilled at great expense for the water.
There is no easy way to do a hard thing, just trying to find a more effective/progressive way of carrying this out.
Going to try and carry this out on a small scale...
That is close to what I am expecting.
We are aware that it will take several passes of water through the filter to ensure a good sameple.
I will research the half life, or do a search here.
Where do you think the flow rate range should be to ensure proper suspension of sediment. I was...
Hello all.
I am in need of cleaning several inground potable water storage tanks. The tanks are in the 10,- 15,000 Gal range. Mostly constructed out of masonry and are serving as domestic water storage. The tanks are typically rectangular and have an average depth of 10'
The goal is to...
Hello all,
I have a residential unit that currently has a single phase 100A power supply.
In this unit there is a on demand water heater that uses 46A @240V which switches on and off as the thermostat demands.
The result is a flickering of all the lights in the building when the heater is...
Scotty,
It will be mainly potable water and we have a range of 120/220V 60Hz as a power supply option.
As for the budjet side I will look at the ranges of the products and make a decision based on that.
Mounting of the transducer will be to the underside of the concrete tank tops.
I am...
Is the system an open or closed loop?
We use PVC all the time for this application, for the very reason that you have described with the problems of the fusion pipe work.
Hello all,
I am in need of several wired water level indicators that will be able to produce a % read out of below ground water tanks.
The environment around the sensor is going to be high in humidity, salinity, and a temperature range of 50 to 90 deg F
I have done a search on the net, have...
Take a piece of cardboard and wrap a "U" around the pipe area that you want to bend.
Then take a heat gun and evenly heat about 4X the length that you need to bend. The Pipe should bend quite easily.
I would strongly encourage you to try this on a scrap piece of pipe first.
Good luck!
The sub is approximately 300 meters away from any sufficient land mass.
There is a possibility of the horizontal tow, we would not be permitted to use any kind of explosives due to the sensitive enviromental concerns.
I believe, for safty sake that it may make more sense to raise one end and...
Zapster,
We are not planning to rush the lift, nor do we wish to leave the sub in a boyant state whilst we await for the cohesion to let go. I am looking for a rough guess on how long this process would take.
Obviously the more lift differential that we give the sub the faster the result. We...
BigInch,
Thanks for your response and confirmation on what calc's I am working with. We have the local authorities standing by in all working situtions to ensure safty.
My main concern is the suction created by the silted bottom.
any thoughts on this?
"The only poeple who don't mess things...
A client of mine bought a submarine that was used for diving in and around the waters of Bermuda. The sub has been in-active for over 15 years and as such most of the electronics, pneumatic valves, and surface hatches have deteriorated over time.
The problem is this.
Due to vandalism the sub's...
If you were to bury a loop in the ground and thus increase the surface area for heat exchange. I realize the ground conditions may not be ideal for it, but you would be forcing the flow. You could then get away with a lesser volume of water that you would have to treat and maintain.
Down...
