We are designing support platform about 23 ft above ground for cooling towers. I am assuming that required number of caged ladder depends on size of platform. Any references? I have searched OSHA w/o success.

We are upgrading shop cranes and existing runway beams (W beam & Channel on top) need to be reinforced. The easiest fix for our shop is to weld another W beam (channel will not be sufficient) under existing one (flange to flange). My question is how to calculate allowable bending stress for this...
I want to do a stress analysis of weldment with COSMOSXpress. It seems that COSMOSXpress works only with part not with weldment. Any workaround? Is there way to "convert" weldment to one solid part? I am using SW2006.

There is a pipe penetration thru platform grating. Is toe plate required for this penetration? What are OSHA's requirements for toe plate in this case?
