Friends,
I work in a gas processing plant. We recently have encountered a hydrate formation in one of our subsea pipelines. Though a lot of study was made on hydrate prevention, and the requisite KHI dosing was commenced as per guidelines l;aid down, we still had a hydrate problem, whcih...
Friends,
Similar to the issue of injecting N2 in LNG, is one of maintaining Wobbe Index of natural gas. I am working in a natural gas processing facility and currently we are having a higher Wobbe Index tyhan allowed by the specs. I have read of injecting Nitrogen in LNG regassing...

Friends,
I have been recently entrusted with the task of making calculations for horizontal separator vessel sizing, its boot sizing etc.
basically it is a three phase separator meant for separating water, condensate and natural gas.
Since I have lost touch with designing since many...
bspooner,
Thanks for your input. I would like to know what exactly to look for in the detaile analysis of glycol. We have visually checked the appearance of the glycol and it is dark brownish in colour, besides the ph is found to be above 7. The temperature at which we run the reboiler is 200...
friends,
We have a gas glycol contactor which has been experiencing foaming problems recently. What are the causes( apart from hydrocarbon condensation) which result in foaming? what are the remedial causes? A comprehensive answer is welcome.
Friends,
I am interested in providing a extended transverse fins for a small piece of straight piping on my sealing fluid return line in one of my pumps which has no provision of cooling the hot return fluid. Since we have no cooling water as a utility we are planning to provide fins on...
Friends,
We havew a centrigugal pump handling condensate, and the pump has plan 11 and plan 52 for sealing fliud. Recently we have had a seal failure. I have a few basiic questions.
1.0 On the sight glass provided on the seal return line to the seal pot,we could never observe the...

Andrew,
Thanks for your reply. For your information our inlet gas is saturated. Checking with Mc Ketta curves it reveals the saturation dew point temperature to be 45 deg C, at a pressure of 60-65 bar and inlet water content of 90 lb/mmscf.
Regarding my commnet on higher loading of...
Presently we are maintaining 50 deg C temp of natural gas at inlet of our dehydration column. The design temp. is 55 degC.Till date we were keeping it 50 to be on the safer side for better water removal through TEG. I would like to know the impact on TEG regeneration system, lean and rich TEG...
RJOSVER,
Thanks for your reply, could u pl describe ur equation. I know it might be sounding stupid but I would like to know the symbols used in ur equation.
Would u pl explain wether the symbol^ is for root, square root, or multiplication?
d^3 means what?
thanks
In order to minimise flaring how do we calculate the minimum purge rate required for the flare header? As I understand the purge is just to ensure no flashback into the header and also to prevent a flame out of the pilot. What data, and calculations are reqd for this? thanks
We have a tri ethylene glycol dehydration contactors and regeneration units for the same. I have read some literature from US Env. Protection agency regarding the methane losses in glycol operated dehydration towers. Since we are also in the processes of optimisation of dehydration operations...
Could any one pl explain the concept of choke flow, and mach number in relation to flow across restriction orifices? What is it's significance in designing the RO? What are the equations which explain the Choke conditions? Any good links for understanding compressible fluid flow?
