Hello!
I use constraint equations (CEs) for preloading internal nonlinear parts in my model - basically sets of rolling bearings. The problem is that the immediate introduction of the CEs provides very sharp loading effect and causes convergency difficulties.
I can explain the problem on a...
For estimation of the ring radii I use manufacturer's information on the preload/stiffness relation. They usually state values of both for 3 preload classes in catalogues.
I have a mathematical model built according to Harris' book which calculates the axial force/deflection/stiffness curves...
Thank you, Stringmaker. But in my case it seams that the PAGE swells gradually with number of partial solutions (even though I clear results as much as I can during the loop) - reaching more than 20GB. A single solution easily fits into 50MB of memory....
I just solved the problem by: save ->...
Hey Ansys folks, hopefully you can help me:
I run structural and thermal analyses in an automatic loop consisting of many (thousands) steps (solutions). After each solution I basically need only several result (DOF vaues), which I save into result arrays and run the solution again with modified...
Thanks, Bagarbilla, "NLGEOM,on" really helped to get results.I see that large negative pivot destroyed the original shape, but that's what I needed.
H-up
Thanks for reply, Drej. The model basically consists of several solid-material brancheis fixed by its ends and the central part containing the superelement. So there can not be any kind of rigid body motion there.
Therefor I think the problem should have a physical solution.
Hi all,
I try to "override" a negative pivot. I am running a static linear analysis with a model containing a superelement. The stiffness matrix inside the SE is created outside Ansys and results from different calculations.
The matrix in SE is not positive definite, but the whole model...
It seems to me that this command does not work properly. It is documented and should create SURF151/152 elements and connect them to closest nodes of FLUID161. It doesn't recognize the first argument - nodal component.
Has anybody met this problem? Thx, Tom
Structure of the model is constrained by possibilities of FEM software and users invent very individual approaches. Bearing application in particular is one of freeride zones in FEM modeling.
The ratio given by FAG coresponds to approx. alph=16 in the equation - which should be OK considering...
If you are modelling an angular contact ball bearing, the best representation is complete stiffness matrix attached between two reference nodes of the shaft and the housing (cross sections).
The manufacturers always provide the axial stiffnes, "Ka" for your bearing and its preload. Other...
Hello forum, I am new here,
I would like to ask if anyone of you has experience vith vibrational stress relief after welding. Frankly I have not heard about it yet and when I see http://www.dreyfusglobal.com/sre.htm it seems very interesting to me. Is it comparable to traditional methods...
Hi all,
I am glad that this topic is discussed, because I had the same problem. System of general equations ideal for symbolic Newton-Raphson solution in Matlab, but I needed it in Ansys during solution time-steps.
My system of equatin was dependent on 3 input parameters provided by Ansys...
Hi,
some time ago I was deriving analytically what really happens in the guitar string. It is also important the direction of prestress and the nature of examined modeshape.
By tuning the gitar string you change the frequency of the perpendicular modeshape but not the freqency of the...
