Does anyone have references that propose reasonable minimum criteria (e.g., maybe a tabulation of ##,#### hours by pump type, or in general). Thanks!!!
Thanks Compositepro!
To clarify, we sometimes perform pre-installation analyses like finite element analysis or physical hydraulic modeling in special equipment applications (e.g., pumps) where there is greater risk exposure of an otherwise routine design due to abnormal various variables like...
I am looking for financial risk model(s) that would support go/no-go design analysis financial spending decisions during design to avoid/mitigate construction and/or operational cost risks for hard to quantify risks. Is anyone aware of tools of this nature.
I am looking for information on industry recommended minimum L-10 bearing life for motor bearings as a function of application/service/duty (i.e., pump applications mostly). I expected that HI or API might have something on this but I seem to have come up relatively empty handed. I'd be grateful...
Thanks drawoh,
To your point, I just grabbed the nearest couple of hard copy reference books that I had on my shelf and noted the following a few pages into the document, "Copyright (c) YYYY, by <the publishing company>. All rights reserved. Printed in the United States of America. Except as...
Thanks 3DDave,
I came across the this fair use evaluator (https://librarycopyright.net/resources/fairuse/index.php). Seems like something like this could be potentially used to help avoid inadvertently crossing the line of what is not allowable. Then again, it also seems rather subjective as to...
It sounds like there is a strong aversion to SharePoint which is understandable. I once really strongly disliked SharePoint also though over time I think that my senses have somewhat gone numb to it. I have to admit that it seems to have irreconcilable flaws. I believe that I am stuck with it on...
Hi all,
The thought was to make this an internal only SharePoint site (servers visible only from within the company's internal network (intranet-like setup), organized by subject matter area specific to our niche area practice. The intent is to establish this for the purpose of providing...
Hi all,
I am contemplating starting an electronic, cloud based, company internal shared engineering resources library (i.e., handbooks, journal articles, manufacturer's written recommendations, etc.) to facilitate access to the most relevant industrial resources in our niche area.
I am...
I am looking for any position papers or references that make a case for the recommended text and leader color to use when identifying existing conditions on classic contract physical plans (hard copy). The context is municipal engineering contract drawings where new/existing/demo need to be...
Offline, most experiences received conform to full height concrete walls. Various possibilities have been speculated about, subject to modeling to verify adequate performance.
In offline discussions that I have had thus far with others, floor to ceiling concrete bay divider walls is what others have seen. No exceptions have come to light yet.
Thanks Artisi. I tend to agree. Seems like cast-in-place concrete is the obvious choice. Perhaps pre-cast concrete would also make an adequate choice. I also tend to agree that anything else could be used, particularly given the fact that hydraulics labs sometimes use waterproof plywood...
