    Bearings inside an oven

SKF make a range of bearings suited to very high temp operation - the VA 201/ VA 228 types. They have graphite lubricant and cages. Have you looked at them?

    Wire race bearing design

I'm sorry to enter this information late, but there is a German company called FRANKE that specialise in wire race bearings for this application. You can buy wire/ball sets and machine the races locally to yourself, or simply buy complete bearings from them. Lester Milton Telford, Shropshire, UK

    Chinese bearing brands

Don't knock yourself too hard Joe. I know Wafangdian quite well. There are 100's of bearing companies there! Sounds like yours is one of the older ones, but the same was said of Japanese beairngs not so long ago. Things will get better if people like you strive for improvement.

    Chinese bearing brands

I work for an importer and distributor that offers anything from "Tier 1" brands down to the very cheapest you can get. We like to think we give the customer the value or lifetime that his engineers require on the bearings, and at a price that satisfies the accountants. The comment above sums it...

    THRUST BEARING 21000lb

I'm sorry I am a little late to this, but you might still be looking for something. What you seem to have in your photo is a housing that contains a spherical roller bearing. Ask you local bearing guys for information on LinkBelt (probably the best known) or Blue Brute bearings - they will be...

Bearing type for a Jib Crane PIN

A single tapered roller at the top, and a guide roller lower down (like a cam follower) on the circumference of your tower. What about a slewing ring?

    Thrust ball bearing running surface

Do you have heavy loads? What about plastic thrust washers? (Sorry - you've probably already thought of this).

    Thrust ball bearing running surface

Flat thrust washers, usually used for needle thrust bearings, should be available from your local bearing distributor. Is there any reason you can't use standard ball or needle thrust bearings?

    Light instrument lubrication

Your requirement of low friction would surely suggest an oil, rather than a grease? If these are instrument bearings then manufacturers like Timken MPB, Myonic or Barden will be able to offer excellent advice.

    Ferrobronze alloy properties

I have written it as it appears on the drawings/purchasing documents. Regret this is not my speciality - but I'm trying to understand a problem before I tackle ther factory engineers concerned who a) don't speak good English and b) would probably baffle me with science anyway. I am told by the...

    Ferrobronze alloy properties

Can anyone help me with the material properties of two alloys Fe+55%CuSn10+0.5%C and Fe+40%CuSn+1%C. Regret I am no metallurgist and I cannot find anything on the net. I'm trying to find out why some bearing bushings have failed prematurely. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in...

    Grease Code

The following site suggests that Mobil 28 and Aeroshell 7 are the two greases suited to the 2 MIL specs you have. Hope it helps. http://www.rbcbearings.com/designeng/RBC-Aero-re.pdf

    how loose is loose?

Most of what needs to be said has been said, but:- Shaft and housing tolerances are specified by the bearing manufacturers for a reason. Following their guidelines you will probably achieve optimum performance under normal conditions. ROundness of the seats is as important - and there are...

    Bearing speed ratings

Suggest you talk to GAMET Bearings in th UK who specialize in machine tool bearings. Lester Milton Telford, Shropshire, UK

    Waste Removal From Railcars

Just a thought - this isn't really my forte. To unload sugar cane from rail cars they have a number of chains attached to a bar along the side that stretch from side to side and down into the car. To unload the cane they just pick up one of the bars with a grapple which lifts and traverses the...
