If i want to calculate the flow through a restrictive orifice, i have to check whether the flow is choked flow or not (Please Comments). I found equations for liquid and vapor from crane's Technical Paper 410 for not choked flow.
For liquid:
W = 1891*c*d^2*(dp*rho)^0.5
For Vapor:
W =...
Ricardoarturo,
Thanks for your references, but i went to that site before and i found that it is only for Liquid case they dont have anything for Compressible fluid. It doesnt include expansion factor Y. But i agree that for basic control valve sizing, that is very good information.

To All:
I want to know how to calculate the pressure drop across control valve for compressible fluid (gas or vapor). I dont want to use fisher CV gas sizing equation as i have Masoneilan Control Valve. Can anyone tell me step by step procedure. I kanow inlet CV pressure, CV of Control Valve...
Process: We have 30+ years old compressor and we are in a process to install a new 2 stage receprocating compressor.
Existing condition: Inlet suction pressure of the old compressor was 15.5 psia @ 120 F. The new compressor is design at this suction pressure & temperature.
Problem:
During...
