Back on March 7, Andy981 states that in the case of +/-.005 tolerance, the 4:1 ratio would apply to .005 for an accuracy requirement of .00125. I have always thought the 4:1 ratio applies to the total tolerance, or .010 in this case, giving an accuracy requirement of .0025. Comments?
Thanks

Not knowing all the details, I would have to agree with your customer. A concentricity tolerance of .008 means your tolerance zone is .008 in diameter and that the two axis must be no more than .004 apart. If the TIR is .010 then the axis are .005 apart. Of course we have to assume here that...
At the risk of answering my own question, I am looking for some reassurance that I am making the correct interpretation of the standard.
For tolerance of position, beginning with the 1982 revision of ANSI Y14.5M, it is my understanding that in the absence of a material condition modifier in the...
I am tasked with writing a process audit checklist for heat treating, specifically SAE AMS2759 as well as AMS 2750 for pyrometry. Is there a source for a generic audit checklist that could be used (or modified) in order to evaluate potential heat treat processors?
Thank you,

Or perhaps, "INSTALL THREADED INSERTS PER THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AFTER FINISHING."
(Are you installing per the manufacturer's instructions or finishing per the manufacturer's instructions?)
