I notice in an old school building repurposed for office use, the bathroom fixtures having water within them of light purple-ish color...more noticeable if standing over weekend.
Water source is public water. Maybe the color is a result of lead piping leaching?? Or high residual chlorination...
For an existing mobile home park that uses a groundwater well and simple treatment and a metered discharge line, it is desired to have it adapted to a digital readout and recorder. Currently, the mechanical meter is read on a weekly basis. it is desired to have a recorded reading, and ability...
This is a requirement by some states...read the state regulations you are working in. I'm aware of it in effect for all the states bordering PA, where I practice. Typically, a solo surveyor or engineer, registered in a different state can do solo work in that state...but if a firm does work...
I usually do an exterior, excel spreadsheet calc, of elev-vs-volume, incorporating any stone bedding void credit, various diameter pipe volumes and whatever ... then enter the accumulated volumes as volume data-vs-depth, into my routing program. If you have sloped pipes, you will need to modify...
I have a ABET-TAC BS in civil engineering technology. It & job experience was sufficient for PE license in my state of PA. The job experience was same as for those holding BS CE degree. I am able to obtain PE in some other states, but not all. I had planned to get a MSc in water resources, to...
I would suspect, with clay embankment soils retaining pore water longer than pond draindown, you will need at least 2:1 or flatter slopes to prevent slumping & slides. If the face was free draining to keep up with drawdown, then you could maybe go to 1:1 without stability issues.
Fredpar... this is the guidance I was looking for... something to get some kind of logical baseline power cost, and knowing it will go up from that number... thanks
Ok... its more involved than I imagined or really needed at a preliminary stage... here in western PA, we can lay out a generic storm sewer system, like placing inlets at every 300' and assuming a 15" storm pipe, quantify those items & multiply by a installed LF unit cost, to arrive at some base...
We are involved as civil engineers on site development. Usually the local electrical company does the electric service design af final plan stage. For preparing preliminary cost estimates for various site layout options, we would like some guidelines as to several issue... like...
If you are pumping clear effluent into a D box, the 2" line is more than sufficient for the 75' distance... the pump can be rather smallish even, as you don't want it squirting hard into the D box... all you are doing is lifting the flow to a higher elevation (5'+ donsing tank depth= 9'...
I've had mine since 1985 ... on the back of it says Agnes Field Burke, 503 Canterbury Lane, Alexandria, VA 22314 703-370-3006 I think it was maybe $15 cost??
I think what Paul1177 is getting at, is potential frost heave of the exposed installed foundations. Since the footer is not covered up, the frost depth is really from that exposed footer base downward; and yes, it will freeze & heave within that region. I suggest getting some fabric & temporary...
Well, the Judge is kind of right on that statement. For the difficult land boundaries, especially metes & bounds, unless solid field evidence conforms to the description, the solution becomes more of a judgement issue and not an exact science. The only "exact science" of the matter, is obtaining...
HB2U...I think I understand what you are discussing... I'm a PLS in PA, and can say that you will not likely find any prior survey mappings, as prior tract cutout work was mostly done by deed descriptions alone. From the older descriptions you have of your property and his, you should be able to...
