    one way valve for vacuum forming platen

    I need a one way valve that allows air to be pumped out of a vacuum forming platen, and closes/seals quickly allowing a vacuum to build up in the platen. I have tried a spring loaded check valve which closes too slowly allowing air flow to the back into the platen.

    Can you calculate the sheet area you need by working out the surface area of the mold? How much does a plastic sheet thin out when it sags? I am building a vacuum forming machine for a prototype and need to estimate the forming area/frame size needed. Thanks
