    Reduced integration

Dave442 I agree for the stress recovery for 4 Gauss point. But I can not imagine inter/extrapolation from one Gauss point. Is is not that the stresses at nodes of element are the same as stress at one/centre Gauss point?

    Reduced integration

How the stresses are recovered to nodes from reduced integration? Element quad4, one gauss point in the center of element.

How many intagration points has element CQAD4? 4 or 1 in the center?

    Occasional loads B31.3

I understand what is secondary and primary stress, stress range, self limiting etc. I am just wonder why occasional loading which are primary loads are not substructed together with sustainded loads due to weight and pressure? Below is extract from John Breen post: There is stated thaat code...

    Occasional loads B31.3

But the code substract the 1Sl from thermal allowable. Why this substract do not include ocasional stress.

    Occasional loads B31.3

Hi Guys, I have some example which bother me. I hope you can help me. Simple example (description according to B31.3): Sc= 100MPa Sh=100MPa f=1 SL=10MPa- Sustained stress SE=240MPa- Expansion stress then Sa= 1*(1,25*100+0,25*100)=150MPa+ (Sh-SL)=150+90= 240MPa (add liberal stress) So Se=Sa...

    EN 12953-3 Flat plates

Hi, In chaper 10.2.4 equation 10.2-2 we are calculating the wall thickness of flat plate. What about weld factor v. This is not included in this equation nad why (in my situation flat plate is welded form two plates)?. If for exapmle I have weld factor v=0,85 shall I divided ech/sqrt(v)?? Best...
