Plastic material input from a tensile test

You can you trial-and error method like YingBao wrote in his thesis. After necking point, we can iterate the simulation a couple of times. I use his method with two iterates and got amazing curve in Abaqus. The simulated curve coincide completely experiment result.

    Mass scale

Hi, I am using Explicit/Abaqus for my simulation. To decrease computational time, I artificially reduced the time period of the process (actual process takes 922s, the simulation is reduced to 500s). The result is acceptable. But this way will come to effect of the rate dependent. I want to use...

    Time Period in abaqus/Explicit

Hi, I'm using Abaqus/Explicit to simulate the forming process. My process took 922 second to finish. I set 922s in Time period in Step Module. The material parameter: - Young Modulus: 45GPa - Poison:0.33 - Density: 1770kg/m3 I use formula of wave speed in Abaqus Documentation. (section 6.3.3...

    Force vs Displacement Plot

Thanks for Gurmmeet, Following your guides, the graphic showed a shape corresponding well with experiments but its max value (3500N) is higher two times than the experiment(1700N). The specimen is meshed into 2 layers, 16 elements in width. So, I have 51 nodes in cross section at the fixed...

    Force vs Displacement Plot

I checked reaction force at fixed part and knew that it is so small. RF and RT are same value. What is difference between these reaction force. What do you mean Sum the reaction force? Thanks

    Force vs Displacement Plot

    Thanks Gurmeet very much.

    Force vs Displacement Plot

I performed a tensile test with dog-bone specimen. The true stress and strain plot is quite good with experiment. I want to plot graphic of history of Force vs Displacement to compare with experiment. How can i do this? I tried to plot RT (or RF ) Vs U (UT) in ODB Field Output but the force is...

About definition of Anisotropic plasticity for Explicit

Dear group, I am simulating sheet forming with high anisotropic material. I used *Potential option in plasticity. Abaqus requires input six values for *Potential such as: R11, R22, R33, R12, R13, R23. I really don't know how can find those values. I did tensile testings and got normal...

Using the procedure of Dynamic, Temp-Disp, Explicit

Hi my friends, I try to understand about the procedure of Dynamic, Temp-Disp, Explicit by a simple example. The model includes ball-tool (likes as ball tool of milling machine, modeled as analytical rigid part) and metal sheet (100x100x3 mm). The ball-tool goes down 0.5 mm and slided on sheet...

How can plot Stress-strain curves in Abaqus CAE

Hi my friends, I finished simulation of tensile test, but I don't know how to plot stress-strain curve in Abaqus CAE 6.7ef. Thank in advances Tung

Material Definition with different strain rates and temperatures

Hi friends. I'm using Abaqus CAE 6.7EF to simulate deep drawing process. The material is Al-Mg alloy. I performed experiments with different strain rates such as 0.1, 0.01, 0.001, 0.0001/s at different temperatures: 20, 200, 250, 300 degree. I read in documentation (17.1.2 Material data...

How can define material in Abaqus

Thanks for your explainations. So I only need to input directly the values which took from tensile test. Is this true. We dont need to fit the constitutive equation? Please explain me, it would be nice if you show me an example of Swift model in input file format (if you dont you CAE) Thanks in...

How can define material in Abaqus

Hi friends I am newcomer in abaqus, I spent 2 weeks to read documentation but I can not image how can I define a material model like Newton-Hoff or Swiff. Abaqus is so differrent with other fem sofware about defining material model. For Plastic behaviour, it only show a table with Yield stress...

How can i define this material in Abaqus

Dear group, Iam new user with Abaqus. I want to define a material but a message happened when i submitted job: "Error in job Job-2: THE USE OF THE PARAMETER DATA TYPE IS ONLY ALLOWED WITH THE COMBINED HARDENING MODEL" The information of my materials are: Aluminum AA3003 E = 70000Mpa v = 0.33...
