The numbers are used for all floor types. General and ramdom traffic floors. The higher the numbers the more flat and more level the floor is. Ramdom traffic floors do not need "Superflat" numbers. If you go to the links above it should help with any questions. ASTM 1155 also will be of great...
We use a side grider and wire brush. Labor intensive, sure but can save money. Sand blasting the air meters is ok if you re-spray them with a coating. Tech-Lab in Texas refinishes the air meters. Don't know how much.
I am presently on a job that has three bridges all three are structural beam frame. The contractor needs to get welders certified for the metal deck. What is the difference between the two specification on welding deck?
Can the welders be certified D1.3 and be ok?
Also one of the bridges...

I've seen it used in a trash transfer station slab. We had to remove the first slab section because it didn't hold up the first time. The replacement slab worked and is still in use after 8 years.
It sounds like they mean the same. (according to the concrete company) As stated above the concrete has ETRAPPED air of 2 to 3.5 percent. The concrete companies add a liquid that increases the air for freeze/ thaw conditions. If your slab is not exposed to extreme freeze/thaw cycles it should...
Good point Zambo. But if you also read ACI and ASTM it says the time should/does start at the time the mix water is added. The 90 min rule is a guide line. If the temp. does not jump above specified limits and the contractor can use the concrete without adding water to re-temper the load he can...
You can also use a known strength of concrete and take readings to compare and work up a correction factor. If the hammer is to far out then you may need to send it off and have it calibrated.
This is a common acurrence. As stated earlier the heat of hydration caused the problem.
Secondly as QC you are there to sample, record ,report the results. The contractor should be notified of the results and you should note that the super was notified of the result. Concrete can be placed...
Hey everyone,
Thanks for the advise. What I did was had the lab run a modified proctor on the material. The modified fit alot better than the standard did. We placed the remaing fill and no problems.
Again, Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the reply. The soil is being used for a building pad, small. The Compaction equipment being used is a Bomag "sheeps foot " roller.
I have not ask yet about the atterberg limits . I thought of running a 1557 on it and see how that relates. I also thought about running one...
