Can anyone suggest a recognized standard (ISA, IEEE,...) that provides information on sizing 4-20mA process control wire? I am specifically looking for a recommended maximum voltage drop for the wire using a 24VDC, two conductor circuit.

I am using an industrial interface controller that contains real time data such as flow rates and pressures. I am new to web development and this interface is also a web server. I am able to display the data using SSI and CGI commands in the web pages I create on the server. I'm using commands...
Thanks for the feedback. We have similar concerns when using cast iron or bronze, such as might be found in a pump volute or impeller, respectively. I do know that stainless steels, both 304L and 316L, are accepted materials by both AWWA (Ref. AWWA C220)and ANSI/NSF 61 for potable water piping...
Does anyone know of any specific plumbing codes that specify stainless steel pipe material grades permissible for potable water? I'm mainly interested in codes for use in cold water applications and limitations that may apply.
Thanks.

I am trying to generate a list of results from a list of values by plugging each value into a formula to calculate the result. My list of values is quite extensive so I would like to have Excel increment through the list and produce a result for each, thus generating a respective list of...
I am looking for a way to allow my Mitsubishi FX2N PLC to link to a BACnet network (and/or LonWorks). I have found plenty of protocol converters but either the serial protocol does not match or networking format is not compatible. Does anyone have experience with this or know where I might go to...
We build these systems and there are a number of factors affecting the sizing of the tank. If you are concerned about motor cycling and actually expect some low or "no flow" periods, then use NEMA or the motor manufacturers recommendations for number of starts per hour to determine the off time...

The motor manufacturer specifies that the dV/dt must be 500V/usec or less. NEMA MG1 Part 31 does not address submersible motors but the manufacturer has placed this stipulation on their equipment due to design. Line inductors at the motor are obviously not a solution since this is a...
Is anyone aware of an output filter/choke capable of limiting dV/dt to 500V/microsec.? I have a submersible motor application with a maximum of 200ft. wire run between the drive and the motor. This is a 460VAC/3ph./60Hz. application operating a 75Hp motor. The filters I’ve reviewed thus far are...
Just remember, trimming an impeller or configuring valves to impose head loss does not change the pump characteristics. Trimming the impeller will lower the magnitude of the duty point and shutoff head, but the net effect of a rise to shutoff remains. I’m aware of a number of cases where...
