GRF and all others thanks for the replies it seems it's a half solution to a problem .I'm not bashing it but now I have a handle on it it doesn't,t quite do what I was thinking it did and the reasoning is quite simple but ibthink it does take a while to get rid of the old way some of us work.
Jeff they seem to be reference dimensions not the actual sketch dimension if for example I draw a disc of material 90 diameter +/-0.1 and 10 thick +/-0.25 I set the tolerance in the model sketch I can reuse this in the drawing.

Yo can run quadro cards in the mac
My latest i picked up for 1300 its last years twin harpetown model but i installed a 1700 quadro (again cheap) with no problems
some on here might know but solidsmack are fans of the mac and a great resource if your new to solidworks on the mac

i was using something called designfoil to generate the xy points but its difficult to get it into cad soi i just thought maybe someone knew a section that was in that speed range and could point me in the right direction

The first mac which was last years suffered a problem after 3 months of use ,dead inverter board
I personally think it was something to do with windows as I read more and more it seems that the power management is far less in tune with the hardware than when the macbook...
You need okino polytrans it wil open a native solidworks file and export as a .3ds
