The PCA has a very helpful publication entitled "Rectangular Concrete Tanks". The following description is from their website:
Description: The latest in analysis and design for rectangular tanks. This new edition contains vastly expanded design tables.
Abstract: Presents analysis...
Your question refers to concrete superstructures, not foundations. See any reinforced concrete design textbook for a discussion of one way (and two way) flat slabs. Frank Hartzell

The handout for the 1999 series of RAM seminars titled "Using the Ram Structural System Effectively and Productively" contains RAM Structural System Tip #2, "Tension-Only Members in RAM Frame". This tip suggests three ways to model your structure.
I believe the tip is also...
Dave:
What is MSC/PAL? Is it perchance PASCAL which is the language used by Erez Anzel for FrameMac? If so, I might well have an old disk with some version of PASCAL. In my younger, more optimistic, days, I had illusions about learning to program. I know I have(had?) a book on PASCAL and...
Dave:
It might interest you to know that I have been using FrameMac, a classical 2D frame analysis for any kind of frame, since the early 80's !!! The program ran on my original 128K Mac with the original Mac OS and it still works on my Mac G3, OS 9.1. I think that is a real tribute to Erez...
SDG (Standards Design Group,Inc) has been advertising a CD titled "Wind Loads on Structures According to ASCE-7". Since they are located in Lubbock, TX I suspect the authors may be some of the Texas A&M people who do a lot of research into wind loads, etc. The Internet URL is...
Regarding the Kansas City Hyatt Regency walkway failure:
In addition to the increased load on the hanger rod-floor framing connection at each level due to the substitution of individual hanger rods between levels for continuous rods, the hanger rod-floor beam connection itself was, I believe...
I have a long, five- tier structural steel pipe rack supported on braced bents spaced about 30 ft c/c. Bent width is about 20 ft. The total height of the structure is about 38 ft. There is a possibility that the owner may decide to place cladding on both sides of the upper 18 ft of the pipe rack...

AASHTO Specsfor Highway bridges cover point loads on concrete slabs. Also see many concrete texts,e.g.,"Design of Concrete Structures, Nilson & Winter,11th Ed.
Be sure to check slab for punching shear.

I forget the details but many years ago (maybe 30-35 years) there was a catastrophic steel formwork failure somewhere in the northwest USA or Canada. A very complete report of the failure investigation was published. As I recall, one of the main culprits was web buckling of grillage beams which...
The best reference I know for US practice is "Designing Floor Slabs on Grade,2nd Ed, 1995, by Boyd Ringo and Robert Anderson. It is published by the Aberdeen Group and is probably available from PCA as well as any from good technical bookstore.
Imagineer (March 2nd) was unable to purchase a copy of DM-2.

I haven't checked it for several years but the Government Bookstore in Philadelphia stocks and sells literally thousands of GPO documents, including the Navy DM's. There must be similar Government Bookstores in all...
