    Thank you for your comments. The client we were working for was determined to use spiral welded pipe. I think once the costs of producing this type of pipe to NACE MR0175 are accounted for it pushes the cost of spiral welded pipe up from the prices quoted to make it a less attractive choice.

    Are you using carbon steel for the pipeline? For sweet service you would probably only consider corrosion probes if you were expecting the gas to be wet and containing CO2 or chlorides as Hush said. There is also a cost element, it's much cheaper to include corrosion probes at the design stage...
