    Thanks for the reply. I'll see about a sketch soon. The construction is a single wythe of 8" CMU backup with 4'' brick veneer. There are actually two lintels: one for the CMU and one on the veneer. I think the solution I have found is to use evenly spaced cantilevered supports with cross bracing...
