creating a point will create an expression for x, y and z. Perhaps you could create an associative point and use the expressions. You may have to wave link some geometry to associate the point since you indicated you are working on an assembly.
Analysis -> Measure Bodies...
Make sure Associative is checked. Select the body or bodies you wish to measure an select OK. This will create measurement expressions that can be exported to a spreadsheet. This will not give you center.
You can try Analysis -> Advanced Mass Properties ->...
Hudson888, I appreciate your feedback. I asked the question even though I was pretty sure of the answer. Seems someone made the comment that NX6 "will not recognize" ALTREPs and management questioned their continued use because of that comment. I have checked with Siemans and confirmed the...
John,
I was just told that NX6 will not "recognize" UGALTREP datasets. I cannot believe that this could be true because I assume that many companies other than mine are using this functionality and I'd hate to think that our assemblies would suddenly be "hosed". Can you shed some light on...
The easiest way is to export the drawing to a new part file. Use File ->Export -> Part. Select whether it will be exported to a New or Existing file and select the drawing to be exported. This will maintain the associativity between the model and drawing. Where I work we usse this method to...
Mating conditions can be confusing at first. If you have CAST installed, go through the assemblies lesson. If you don't have CAST, go through the help docs. Not as good as CAST but they will explain the different mating conditions.
Thanks for the answer. I took a look at the .env file and noticed there was no carriage return after the line defining the release procedures. Had the IT guy fix it and it works perfect.....
We (engineering) have been trying to get IT to configure baseline. I have been told by IT that v9.1.2 has a bug that will not allow the baseline release procedures to be defined in the env file. Does anyone know if this is accurate? I have searched GTAC and found no reference to this.
Apparently, GTAC has been contacted and according to them the problem is not with the NX plot utility. IT is insisting it is not with their programming. The end users are stuck in the middle. That is why I am wondering if anyone else is having a problem. If we are the only ones experiencing...
Is anyone having trouble plotting from NX3? Specifically, you send a plot to the plotter but it never plots. We are forced to plot using a grip program but IT is telling us the problem is with the plot utility in NX. Any insight would be helpfull....Thanks
It will probably take some debugging. Start with the ugmgr.bat file and work through it too make sure if it is in fact defining the environment the same. I have experienced similar problems in the past when we had different start up scripts for Tc and NX native.
Have you checked your syslog...
Sounds like you are using a PDF print driver to create the PDF. My guess is that it is in the setting on that particular machine rather than a UG problem.
