Hi to all,
does exist any AISC required about rolled heavy shape strength reduction as for EN 1993 code (for flange with a thickness > 40 mm)?
Thanks.

Ok, thanks.
I think that §15.3 chapter is not applicable to column-foundation section but I have some doubts about this problem...

Hi to all,
in chapter §15.3 of ACI 318-14 are present rules about the transfer of axial force of column through the floor system, when the compressive strenght of concrete are different for more than 40%. The same rules have to apply also in column to foundation joints?
Thank you in advance...
Thank you PSEPK.
I had already read the 11.7.2.3 section, but no clarification about 0.2% limit is present (are presents only detailing rules for walls with thickness major than 10").
Can you explain to me if required horizontal reinforcement is 0.1% for each face of wall (then 2x0.1%) or...
Hi to all,
I would need to know if the limit of 0.2% indicated in table 11.6.1 of ACI 318-14 for horizontal reinforcements wall (1st row, cast in place, deformed bars, bar size <#5, fy>60 kpsi) is relative to each of two side of wall or if this limit is relative to total (then 0.1% for each...
The beam rotation at the support is ql^3/(24EJ). The eccentricity of reaction and the distribution of stress in the column depend of support detailing.

"Low heat of hydration mix design and temperature controls are a minimum." I agree, absolutly. Is necessary to use a large pieces of gravel.
A thickness of 6 feet of concrete can cast in place in three phases, with intermediate horizontal reinforcement.

It's probable that the collapse occurred due to a differential thermal variation between steel and concrete.

What is the distance from center of anchor bolt to each cracked corner? And what is the diameter of anchor bolt?
Hello.

For concrete with strength up to 50 MPa the cylindrical strength (fck) is about 17% lower than cubic strength (fck, cube). Example, concrete grade C30/37: fck = 30 MPa, fck, cube = 37 MPa, fck = 0.83 fck, cube (approximately).

If the element is locked at both ends, even for the axial load is valid the rule 20-35/55, as long as the axial stiffness EA/L is constant along the rod.
