    In the new WPS whith the portion SMAW requires backing (weld metal). That backing is the back weld?

    If a PQR states that the GTAW process shall be used on root and fill with SAMW (groove joints) by ASME IX it is performed to make a WPS with only the portion of SMAW which requires backing (back Weld -E7018 ) is allowed to make backweld with backcouging? or it is necessary to make a new pqr?
