Sludge Depth Level Sensor For Slurry Pit

Thanks for the ideas. There is problems with a DP level measurement: - we dont have access to the very bottom for the pit (its in the ground) - the density of the solids varies as differnt areas is ashed, i.e. fine sand if the mills is ashed, course ash and rocks if the boiler is ashed and also...

Sludge Depth Level Sensor For Slurry Pit

Hi, On the site I am curretly working we have the requirement to measure the sludge depth in our bottom ashing slurry pit. The arrangement as follows: - The inflowing slurry is mixture of approx (70% water, 20% sand and 10% large ash klinker rocks). Ash clusters up to 50mm diameter. - The...

Burning Liquid Fuels In CFB (Circulating Fluid Bed)

Well, the tar is 70% naphtalene, 10% gasolene and 10% carbon (by wieght) so not much to do about it. except if we mix it with coal beforehand and add it as a wet solid or sludge...hmmm..... The liquor is basicly contaminated water that needs to be incinerated. But this have very little suplur...

Burning Liquid Fuels In CFB (Circulating Fluid Bed)

I am researching the suitability of burning liquid fuels in a CFB combustor. Our clinet has process waste from a coke plant that they would like to utilise for inceneration and power generation. This is char plant tar, liquor (97% water) and off-gas. Coal will be added at times to boost output...

    Flange Rating Dillemma

Yes we've designed everything such that it is safe. I've also done a Ceasar model to verify that thier sched 10 piping is adequate. All valves will have to replaced though. Thanks once again.

    Flange Rating Dillemma

Thanks for all the inputs, I appreciate it. We have discussed with the Client the option of lower system pressure but they weren't up for it, unfortunately. So all flanges will now be changed to Class 300. I think its the best for the long term life of the plant. And personnell! Cheers

    Flange Rating Dillemma

Hi everybody, I am currently busy with a steam line design for our client's process plant, and we ran into a bit of a situation. The current conditions on plant is two package package boilers supplying to a common line. The one boiler has a design pressure (SV lift) of 1600kPa and the other...
