I would like to calculate the electrodynamic force applied to a set of contacts in a vacuum interrupter when a 60kA 1/2 cycle current carry is applied. thanks
Can someone help me with calculating an electromagnetic force. I need to know what sort of force is developed by a 60 kA 1/2 cycle current carry when introduced to closed contacts inside a vacuum interrupter. thanks.
We are using a Mazak Quick Turn 6G. The machine is currently outfitted with a PC that has QuickLink 2000 by Glass House Software. The software is not working and I'm wondering what other programs are out there for transferring programs from the CNC to the PC and back again. Thanks
I appreciate all your help. The tooling is exaclty the same for every program so that does not move at all. The parts that we are machining are copper cyclinders that are about .015" thick. We're using expanding collets to hold the cans in place, while the machine puts a full radius on one...
I am using a CNC lathe to manufacture a variety of sizes of the same type of part. Each part requires a different program and subsequently different offsets to get the results just perfect. My problem is that I'm running out of space on the machine's hard drive, and I have more programs to...
Thanks for all of your input. I just finished inspecting a batch that is finished with brazing. There is no correlation to the rejects and their placement on the trays that ride on the conveyor. On some of the rejects, the plating and solder bubbled. On others, just the solder bubbled and...
Are there any types of polymers that can withstand temp of around 850C?
I thought carbon fiber was a good conductor, but wasn't quite sure. "carbon" is a good hint
I'm researching alternative materials (to ceramic) for high voltage electrical insulation. What is a comparable material, and what are the respective costs?
Thanks,
The braze alloy debonds from the nickel plated surface. I agree that it would better to braze in a hydrogen or vacuum furnace, but due to the volume of these parts, this is quite difficult.
Some parts come out ok which leads me to suspect placement on the belt, etc. I'm testing this theory...
The material is wrought moly. The braze alloy is not discolored.
The furnace is conveyor style belt driven, with 3 temp zones, open to atmosphere.
thanks
