    effieciency in spur gears

    i am wondering how to calculate the efficiency of two mehing spur gears... the gear ratio is 1:3 and i one set of weights and the other lifts up and i have a program whereby the RPM can be measured. Along with other values i can obtain how can the efficiency of the gears be measured?
