Hi
Has anyone had experience jointing 33kV 3C 630mm^2 cable?
I'm trying to understand whether there are joints available in the market for this application.
I understand that Raychem and Nexans may have a 3 core joint but I may be working on the edge of their cable size limits.
Any advice...
It's very unlikely for a surge arrester to cause a fault of this magnitude, arresters do sometimes fail short circuit though. If you want the arrester where it is and want to reduce the likelihood of the arrester failing short circuit you could insulate the base and use a quality disconnector.
I was wondering whether anyone know of any resources regarding the utility situation in Japan at present and the current situation of their generating assets?
Hi pmdykstra,
Welcome aboard.
I have been in around substations in Australia for the past few years. I visited some MV subs in Germany a few years ago and in a couple I felt exactly what you describe. I thought it was due to the shoes I was wearing at the time, as I haven't felt that in...
Why are you looking to test the cable? Tan Delta will give you information on the dialectric loss of the cable, how old is the cable and what sort of insulation is used?
