Are there any ASTM standard tests for determining the physical composition of tar. We have a site with 3 impoundments used for the storage of tar produced as a by-product of coal distillation process. If the physical composition of all 3 impoundments are the same a single method can be used...
As a geotechnical engineer, other than conferences and technical meetings, where could you find available geotechnical Request for Proposals (RFP's) or request for bids? Is there a website available for each state or each township where one could browse through? Any suggestions are welcome.
Yes thats where i am getting at. Thanks BigH. Because the layer is still consolidating the pore pressure measured before construction is not the "true" static.
Nope not in India. Not the Engineer or the Contractor for this case. Just a reviewer. Definitely agree that stage loading is key to such degree of settlements.
I believe the clay was still consolidating during construction. I agree that for vey small change in settlement, change in elevations...
Sorry for providing too little information. An MSE wall was constructed on soft clay soil conditions and the wall has settled considerably (60 inches)in 2 years. Piezometers were installed at various stations along the wall and readings were obtained over a period of 2 years. I am interested...
Hi,
Can anybody refer me to a technical paper, article, or a book that talks about static pore water pressure corrections due to surface/ground settlements. Thanks!
