Good day,
Would anyone be willing to educate me on what the pressure test requirement is for a manufactured 2 7/8" EUE coupled pup joint? The joint is made from 4130 mechanical tubing.
I can figure out the calculation for plain end, but I am not sure about threaded and coupled.
Thanks so much.

Hello,
I would like to know if API has a specific requirement for identifying casing threads on newly manufactured float and stage tool equipment. I searched with no results.
Any info is greatly appreciated.

I have worked with these high pressure seal grooves for several years and yes they are designed to seal when pressured up.The pressure should protrude over the ID of the groove wall to expand the ring against the outer wall.So in fact there is only a seal on the outer wall of the groove.Hense...
I believe the best way to "check" NPT plug to ring gauge is to calculate the number of turns in.
(3 to 5) turns in/out 1/8"to 2" NPt
(5 to 7) for 3"...up...
some gauges come with milled calibration edges that line up flush to calibrate.(mostly LP style)
plz correct me if this is not right...
I have seen the hex head bolts used on the smaller 2 1/16" 3K valves. However, I believe there are specs spelled out in API 6A as to what is acceptable for PSL1 to PSL4 valves.
hope that helped.
