    API 5CT Pup Joint pressure test question

    Good day, Would anyone be willing to educate me on what the pressure test requirement is for a manufactured 2 7/8" EUE coupled pup joint? The joint is made from 4130 mechanical tubing. I can figure out the calculation for plain end, but I am not sure about threaded and coupled. Thanks so much. JP

    How does API thread look like

    I have used API line pipe(LP) gauges and plug fittings. They are similar to NPT's. Please, anyone correct me if I am wrong. Regards,

    NPT Gaging question.

    I believe the best way to "check" NPT plug to ring gauge is to calculate the number of turns in. (3 to 5) turns in/out 1/8"to 2" NPt (5 to 7) for 3"...up... some gauges come with milled calibration edges that line up flush to calibrate.(mostly LP style) plz correct me if this is not right...

    API valve/bonnet connection

    I have seen the hex head bolts used on the smaller 2 1/16" 3K valves.However, I believe there are specs spelled out in API 6A as to what is acceptable for PSL1 to PSL4 valves. hope that helped.
