Surge Cap without Discharge Resitor for Motor Protection.

Good day. For complements to the question that pete wrote: No.1 The manufactures indicated that don't have no complaints due to a mis-operation of the protections after the chage of the surge capacitors. No. 2. Talking with the manufacturer of the instrument, he indicated to me that the...

Surge Cap without Discharge Resitor for Motor Protection.

Pete. Thanks a lot. I have the same concerns about it. All my Caps are with discharge resistors. And the DC voltage will be apply from 20 minutes to one hour; I think just the time that the protective relay stablish depending of the thermal capacity used in the motor before the stops. Magoo2...

Surge Cap without Discharge Resitor for Motor Protection.

Pete. Thanks a lot for all the information that you post. The meter that I want to use, is an equipment that every time that the motor stops take a measure for the insulating resistence of the set (cables and motor), and hold the voltage applied until the starts; looking for a abnormal reading...

Surge Cap without Discharge Resitor for Motor Protection.

Good Day. I have a question. I'm usign surge protection for the 4.16 Kv motors in our plant. Usign Surge Cap an LA's, near of the motor conections. I want to use an insulation meter, installed in the motor control, so we need to change the surge cap for another ones, that don't have the...

    Changing a GE MDP with a SR750

Good Day. I want to change the source of power of a area of the plant where I work. Right now it is placed in a GE switchgear make in the 1997, which has a MDP (Digital Time Overcurrent Relay) make by GE, for the protection of the feeder with a capacity of 1200 amps at 4.16 KV. I want to move...

Synchronous Motor as Reactive Power Source

ScottyUK. We replace the synchronous motor for a wound rotor motor, because the inrush current and for the torque of the load, a vertical mill. So with the wound rotor motor, we can manage the inrush current. With the synchronous motor, we have the problem that the principal transformer is near...

Synchronous Motor as Reactive Power Source

Thanks a lot for your comments. We consider the use of a back of capacitors. But right now we would like to get almost the reactive power that the motor gave to us, when it was installed. It would be installed downstream the transformer that have the largest motors.

Synchronous Motor as Reactive Power Source

Itsmoked. Actually there is a penalty over the bill of energy, if we have a low PF. I'm not have the exactly value, but it is below 0.75 lag or so. We have almost this value, due to the inductive motors that we have. So I'm looking for a solution, but I don't like the idea to use capacitor...

Synchronous Motor as Reactive Power Source

Thanks a lot. DPC. We have this motor out of services, and I expect that the improvement in the PF will be a benefit. This motor has sleeve bearings, and when it had been loaded, it didn't need to much maintenance. Just checking the air filters, changing the oil time to time when the analysis...

Synchronous Motor as Reactive Power Source

Hello. I have a 3000 KW Synchronous Motor. Made by KATO. I replace this motor with a wound rotor motor. I'm thinking to install the synchronous motor as a Reactive Power Source, in order to improve the PF. The plant is a big consumer, almost a 42 MW, The incoming has two transformers and its...

PLC Interfacing using OPC in Visual Basic and RSLinx

Hello FrancsL. You're complete right. The money invested in the OPC interface, can't be compare with the hours that will take the implementation. I have my hands tied by the budget of the department. But I think can convince them to spend some extra money in this interface. Also I really want to...

PLC Interfacing using OPC in Visual Basic and RSLinx

Thanks a lot for your comments. I have a lot of work make in the application, so I really want to add the code. I looked at the address that you send me, and the investment for just one application is not justified in my company, if the application that I made are running; slowly, but running...

PLC Interfacing using OPC in Visual Basic and RSLinx

Hello Everyone. I'm using AB PLC for an application. I'm using RSLinx pro for the communication in the PC. I want to make an application in Visual Basic for Read and Write data in the PLC. Any one can help me with an example of code in VB6 to get access of the data using OPC. I'm already using...
