Ladies and gentlemen,
We're looking into importing an European high pressure machinery for Nitrogen and carbon dioxide for use in medical/pharma industry.
The machines are CE approved for the European market but could these machines be used in Texas without modifications?
As far as I know the...
Hi,
I'm trying to make a dynamic (time dependent) model in excel of The pressure and temperature (liquid phase) in a tank during a constant volume gas outtake and a constant heat flow into the tank.
At t0 the tank contains both liquid CO2 and gaseous CO2. Temp=10 deg C and pressure 51 Bar
(1) At...
Dear all,
I've read numerous posts where choked flow and supersonic velocities are discussed. Although, What I can't find is any information on is WHAT PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS AND the magnitude of problems this may cause (chock waves, noise etc)?
In a case where there are two reservoirs for...
Is there a simplifyed formula that can be used to esitmate the energy consumption of distillation of a binary mixture?
Maybe a factor times the heat of vaporization?
Looking forward to your answers
Merry X-mas
Another approach:
Use gaseous N2 to cool the water in a heat ex. Use liquid N2 to directl cool recycled gasous N2 to desired temp.
Although I would go for direct cooling with N2 into the water as suggested above is it's possible.
ash9144, thanks for your tips, but I can't really find much using the search word you suggested. Is there another common name for this type of separator?
/A
Thank you for you quick rely and good example!
I my case we can do much about the diameter in this step. It turns out (using the Brown-S eq.) that i have a gas velocity 2-3 times greater the the maximum velocity in the B-S eq. WIll a demister be of any use in this case?
DOesn anybody have...
Hi,
We have a problem with salted water/organic solvent in a inert gas stream. The mist most be eliminated prior to the compressor. We've a gas flow rate of max 230 liters/minute and to start of simple we would like to pass it though a vertical pipe (inside diameter of 80mm) containing a...
In laboratories, there is a common “vacuum suction” thing (looks like a “T” working on the principle that tap water moving past a junction (T-junction) don’t know the name for it) will case a low pressure due to the high velocity (Bernoulli’s eq). This I can understand intuitionally, but with...
Hi!
I received a large quantity of data from one of my students.
The variables (factors) are the final concentration in a bulk solution.
Components A or B are mixed with different ratios of x or y or z...
Water is also used 0 or 0,1%
A and B are present at 0,4 or 0,8 % when added into the bulk...
hi!
I can apply constraints and loads as BC.
FOr the "walls of the bolt" I´ve constrained them in the normal direction since it won´t be able to deform in this direction (at least I think so).
FOr the internal shell wall I´ve set the load in the normal direction the the reactor pressure. Since...
Thanks for the answers!
Prex: This reactor is for personal learning use only and as you problably already have figured out by the means of the construction, it´s not for commercial use!
The reactor will be calculated upon and results minimum results of bolts, thickness etc will be compared...
IN a thick walled cylindical reactor subjec to an internal pressure, a flat lid will be attached with 8 bolts.
I would like to calculate the stresses/Strains in the shell, especially radially outside the bolts in the shell in order to understand where to place the bolts and how much shell wall...
