One option may be the use of "QuadCon" containers.
Four separate smaller containers are coupled together to become one standard 20 foot container.
When on site the "Control" container could be separated and placed farther away.
When project is over, its re-coupled and the system shipped...
A number of years ago we installed a basic Eaton ATC-600 IQ Transfer Controller in an older GE 5kV line up. The customer wanted Option 29J (Manual Transfer Back to Normal rather than the standard Automatic return.) The option was installed via a Option Feature Module via serial port. The...
Check the sleeving manufacturer product regarding outdoor use. We have used 3M BBI Heat Shrink many times with great results indoors (or outdoors but enclosed and heated)
I would doubt primary injection testing of any MCCB is ever carried out at the factory unless it is a design or qualification test.
I suppose it is possible they could do it if requested. But I doubt it.
We have found many breakers that have been successfully "Factory Tested" only to fail...
We use Okonite Part Number 504-22-3495 HV Cable coupled with Elastimold HV Terminations Part No. 35MSCEBBG (one per end of course).
We have found this combination to be PD Free to 60kV if properly terminated.
Cables are flexible, lightweight and long lasting if cared for.
Have used in lengths of...
Typically the instructions associated with any particular trip unit will provide a warning about changing settings when energized.
Stating the trip unit type and model number may garner better information.
Looks normal to me. Water, silt residue, minerals associated with the fire wrap as others have mentioned.
If your really concerned, remove a section of fire wrap and take a look at the cable itself. Should be fine.
You need to read the spec to understand what to do and therefore what you need to purchase. I checked and I dont have any of the LV cable IEC specs. Are you performing a Qualification test or Production test?
That may make the difference between purchasing a used 4kVAC Hipot on Ebay for $150 to...
IMHO if you find new molded case breakers with contact resistance variations greater then 50% (as per NETA/ANSI) and you attempt to "reject" these breakers you will be politely instructed to pound sand by any molded case breaker manufacturer. The breakers are manufactured to certain standards...
Are these thermal magnetic or electronic trip breakers? Do you mean Primary OR Secondary or test with BOTH Primary and Secondary?
As with all things one must weigh risk and reward. Most of my customers will not spend $1000 to test a $600 50A molded case breaker that feeds the wash room...
