I use layers for my revision block. I have extra rev lines on layers that we have turned off. When the rev line is needed we turn the layer on. I have this all tied to a VB box where we fill in our revision text and turn layers on with check boxes.
I use layers for text and have no problem, but what I don't like is that you can not move the layers on the list. Once you add a layer to the list, it stays in that order unless you delete it. I would like to be able to rearrange layers when I add new ones.

I believe you can fill a profile in AutoCad. It's been a long time since I worked on AutoCad, but I believe the command was Autofill. Maybe someone with AutoCad could verify.

We are going thru an SAP conversion also. There is nothing that I know of to batch convert into SAP. We had custom programs written to pull all of our SolidWorks files into SAP, and link them to their SAP numbers.

We did convert from Cadkey. At the time I had posted, We had imported text from Cadkey for the proprietary statement. Since then, I have converted the text to SolidWorks Text. I was thinking that it might fix it, but I was not for sure. Thank you for posting, It's nice to know that...
I am able to turn layers on and off in VB. My question is that I would like to use a checkbox in VB 6 to control the layer. I havn't figured out how to get the checkbox to show a check if the layer is on when the .exe is run. Can anyone help?
Thanks guys
Scott, the DWG file is being sent to our suppliers, and they look at them thru a DWG viewer. What is actually happening is that the proprietary statement text gets spread out and covers the material section of the titleblock. It seems to be fine when I pull it up in other CAD...
Sorry, I would normally do a search, but the function is under maintainence. I know I have seen threads on this before. What is the best font to use in SolidWorks, when I need to export a drawing to a dwg viewer? Some text on our drawings are getting spread out, and ends up covering some...
You need to make sure you have no files open when you go to set "use software opengl". If you have any files open it will be greyed out. If things don't update or rebuild like they should then use the Ctrl-Q. I use it occasionally throughout the day.

If sl99 is having the problem I think he is having the "use software opengl" will not help. It has to do with the service pack 0.0 and the notes(especially notes in empty views). If you are unable to upgrade. do the Control "Q" command I stated in the above post. Often when you save in sp 0.0...
I think it is the service pack you are using. Try using the control Q (Hold control down and press "Q"), this is the force rebuild. This should clean up the Notes so you can print. You will probably notice when you save, the notes will tend to scatter or blurr again. For us, this seems to...
We use tiff files also. We have a jpg for our company logo, but it comes across fine in the tiff file. Does the jpg of your company logo have color for the background. Could be one reason for the black image when it goes to black and white.
I Don't have a solution for your problem as far as a setting. However, once you have your drawing dimensioned you could window select the entire drawing (or one view at a time). This will highlight all the dimensions within the window, and you could add the (") to them at one time. Also, if...
Has anyone used Circuitworks to import an ascII file from pads software. I was able to import a board, but had to input all the component heights when I brought it in. We were wondering if their is a place in pads to enter component height. Any tips would be great.
Thanks
