ive been messin around with the form tools, i think if i can get that to work ok, i can just creat another config that has the jogs, and just use the part without jogs for the flat pattern. but if im lucky, it might flat pattern with the form tool. if i cant get that to work, il just have to...
tried it, problem is its not on a planar face. it also has to disform the sheet perpendicular to it.ive been toying around with form tools to see if i can make them work, but to no advail.

ok, i have yet another problem (i get them ALOT). im currently drawing a wing rib, and i need to put joggles in the outer flanges to allow .032 in. clearance for the horizontal stiffeners. (a joggle is just a little dog-leg in the flange that rivets to the wing to allow clearance for the wing...
ok, im stumped. i can flat pattern a sheet metal part in the part, but as soon as i try to in the drawing, it wont do it. when i do get it to work, it flat patterns ALL the views. im thinking the configuration got messed up somehow. ill post the part, if anyone can figure it out, it would be a...
oops... here is the failing part

hmm, this all seems really interesting to me because ive always like electronics and mechanics and im getting ready to go to college... maybe i should look for a "mechatronics" degree somewhere... some really good points in here.
pulsating combustion rules!
ok, its alot easier to just post the parts then trying to explan what im doing. the angled cut needs to sit flat on another piece of sheet metal at a 90 deg angle (on the faces) ive done it once before with some really interesting angles, but i cant get it to work again, so ill post the...
hi i was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of how to calculate the running frequency of a valvless pulsejet. ive built quite a few, most of them ran pretty well but i would like to learn how to actually calculate the ratios and running frequency intead of just guessing and tuning. i mostly...
its not the screw mate that has the problem, its my limit distance. as soon as i suppress that mate everything is just fine most of the time, its a large assembly and sometimes it just falls apart for no reason. just have to close it and reopen it to work again, with no changes before or after...
ok, im attempting to add a limit distance mate to a part that is also using a screw mate. everything works just fine but is says that the assm. is over defined. but i need both the limit distance mate (to keep it from moving past the bounds in my assembly) and the screw mate to move the part...
