We have the ATI Fire GL 3100 that PCI Express cards that are certified SolidWorks video cards. We've had them about a month and have had no problems with them.
darnell,
I received an email from Solidworks and was told this can't be done (time/date stamp). They also said they are looking at adding it to the next release of eDrawings.

We're getting new PC's and I just found out they don't have an AGP slot. So I need to find a Solidworks certified PCI video card. I looked on the Solidworks website, but they don't list if they are AGP or PCI (I couldn't see where anyway).
Thanks

I just found out we are getting new PC's. Below is what they are ordering. I'm going to ask to bump up the RAM and we get us some video cards. Anything else we should request to change?

3 SW users...very rarily will we work on the same project.
Switched from Autocad...our procedure for a drawing change (in Autocad):
1. open drawing, added a change pending block to drawing
2. copied drawing to a pending folder and made changes
3. routed an EN (aka ECO)
4. when EN is signed off...
I need to Need to push info from a Solidworks Drawing (not a Part/Model) to Excel or MS Access. These drawings are being converted from Autocad (big push to totally move away from Autocad) and don't have any drawing details just tables/charts. I can't figure out how to link the info from the...
MadMango,
Do you use a 3rd party viewer? If so, which one?
In your company, Document Control distributes the drawings? If MFG or an Engineer needs a drawing, they go to Document Control to get one, is that correct?
It's part of our ISO Standards. This way manufacuring/production are always using a current drawing. Without it someone could have a drawing in the shop that was printed a year ago and not know for sure when it was printed. It could have been updated 3, 4 or 5 times since then.
Thanks for the info...however, what we would like to do is have eDrawings print a current time/date stamp, not SolidWorks (company standards). Example, if someone on plant is looking at a drawing (using eDrawings) and prints it, somewhere on the printed drawing it would have this:
"THIS...
I posted this on a couple other user groups, so you might have already seen this.
Here's the deal (this may be long): We use Autocad and Solidworks (SW). Drawings printed from Autocad and SW are considered MASTER drawings. Drawings printed anywhere else on plant (using a drawing viewer) need a...
We are not using a PDM and after reading the previous posts I have a question.
First off we don't use "Projects", this is our folder/file structure:
D00-02K (drawings 1 thru 2000)
D02-04K (drawings 2001 thru 4000)
D04-06K (drawings 4001 thru 6000)
and the list keeps going...
Question:
Can...
I need some help convincing management why we need a PDM. We are a 3 person drafting department, so we very seldom work on the same project. We are currently updating our SW parts the same way we did using Autocad. Copy the file to a pending folder, then move the pending file back over the...
