My background is Aerospace also I worked in R&D for one year in aerospace sector mainly in FEA. But I work as stress analyst in small company which manufactures barriers for automotive sector. For me it doesn't matter whether it is aerospace or automotive main thing is FEA for me. If you are...
Hello Jetgirl8
Many thanks for the email. Unfortunately I don't have any mentoring for me in this company. They just provided me traning of LS Dyna but I m studying previous models and improving myself but finding material properties for Honeycomb is really tough job at this moment I trying to...
Hello everyone,
I am using aluminium honeycomb as material for crash analysis. But I am using MAT_024: MAT_PIECESEWISE_LINEAR_PLASTICITY model for this purpose. Does anyone have any idea of how to obtain LCB, LCC plots? (strong axis hardening stress as a function of volumetric strain)
and...
@Jetgirl8
Many thanks for the link. Recently I had training for LS Dyna but finding material properties to use in those material cards is little difficult as of now cause I am trying to which test shall I perform so that I can end up with yield stress v/s effective plastic strain plot
I want to perform crash analysis in LS Dyna.
My material Aluminium honey comb block.
Since I have shell model so I am using Piecewise Linear Plasticity model in LS Dyna so in this material model I need to use Effective plastic strain values and corresponding yield stress values. Actually I am...
Hello everyone,
Can any please let me know, what exactly is effective plastic strain as I am bit confused about it.
Is there any formula for this or do we have to calculate from stress-strain data?
Thanks!!!
@ rb1957 Many thanks for reply
I got yield stress, youngs modulus in linear region, ultimate tensile strength.
In order to use Ramberg-Osgood equation I will need K & n value which I dont have.
Hello guys,
Is there any specific formula to calculate Tangent modulus? I need this value in material card which I am using for crash analysis. Your guidance will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Hello Friends,
I am performing crash analysis for vehicle barrier in LS Dyna.
I was wondering how to determine time step size for mass scale solution (DT2MS) ? I think this value will help in stabilising the solution and also reduce overall time step
Thanks in advance
