    Windscreen manufacture for project car

Pat, I agree with you, but since it's a one off project i am tempted to think it will not see that much road and grime and a PC screen would be a cheap way to have something acceptable for a while at least.

    Windscreen manufacture for project car

I'd go with a molded polycarbonate sheet, easy to do and to replace if necessary.

    Steel pipe life expectancy

The objective is to estimate the life expectancy of the piping network, it is composed of pipes of 3/4'' to 16" diameter. Piping is painted except when it has heat insulation. The piping is exposed to saline air, located near the ocean. The client wants somethning like : the piping network...

    Steel pipe life expectancy

I am currently looking into a piping life expectancy adjustment for accounting and i am not finding many resources on the subject. My objective is to document what would be ther normal life and be able to back it up with some sources. The piping i'm lloking at is carbon steel fuel oil piping in...

Powerplant cost per kw - hydrogen power generation

The project has been put on hold due to the global economy, but just for the record your inputs have been much appreciated and i got a few contacts of gas turbine manufacturers that were interested in the project.

Powerplant cost per kw - hydrogen power generation

Thanks all for your answers, The thing with this is that since hydrogen is a reject of the process of my client, it is worth exploring options to use it for something. We contacted several fuel cell manufacturer already and they were not interested so this way of doing things was not...

Powerplant cost per kw - hydrogen power generation

Hi, I am working on a feasability study for a client who has hydrogen as a by-product of his process. What he would like to do is use the hydrogen to generate electricity, wich would likely be in the 2000 kW range. Now, i would require the cost per kW of different kind of powerplant he could...

Removing everything but hydrocarbons from gas stream

Dcasto, Do you mean that the propane `bonds' with the N2?

Removing everything but hydrocarbons from gas stream

The gases i have in the mix are basically butane, pentane, propane; those gases don`t need cryo to get liquefied at 100 psi...

Removing everything but hydrocarbons from gas stream

What i can do is purge the system with nitrogen before the start of production so there would be nothing but nitrogen and hydrocarbons in the gas. Is it possible to use sieves to remove the VOC and then to liquefy the hydrocarbon gas by compression at around 100 psig, then all that would still...

    Fluid coupling or torque limiter

The drive system failed when power wires were crossed and it went backwards, thus it was not able to move so the 275% torque did break a gearbox. It shouldn't have happened in the first place if the guy would have checked the motor rotation but the client wants to make sure of it. I asked for...

    Fluid coupling or torque limiter

Hi, I am currently looking at a drive system wich broke due to a lock up. Now my client wishes to have some sort of power limiter installed to be sure this won't happen again. I originally had in mind to install a torque limiter, but then i got the info that the motor is a Nema D (275% starting...

Removing everything but hydrocarbons from gas stream

Milton, Yes you are correct, basically i want to remove nitrogen, oxygen if any and other impurities from the gas. what I want to keep are propane, i-butane, n-butane, i-pentane, n-pentane, propanol and acetone. I might also have dimethyl-ether in the gas stream. Regards,

Removing everything but hydrocarbons from gas stream

Thanks you very much for your input, i'm contacting manufacturers right now to see how it can be integrated in the process! If anyone else has suggestions, i'm listening! :) Regards,

Removing everything but hydrocarbons from gas stream

Hi all, I am beginning work on a new project for hydrocarbon gas recovery. Basically, my client wants to take a stream of gas containing those hydrocarbons: propane, i-butane, n-butane, i-pentane, n-pentane, propanol, dimethyl-etherher and acetone, all in varying proportions. This stream will...
