Welding clips to explosion bonding plate

Guys we are in middle of our TA, in one of our vessel (non pressure tower) i need to weld few clips ( to be permanent) however vessel plate is explosion bonded. so i have few questions to ask: 1- i assume we cant weld to EB plate ? 2- i ask foreman to grind the plate to get in to original plate...

    C-276 piping thickness base

I have question regarding to C-276 or all alloys piping. to estimate minimum thickness for Stainless steel pipe we should use ASME 36.19M and other than that we should use ASME36.10. so I was wondering for Alloys like C-276 pipe thickness could we use ASME 36.19M ? if yes why?

    Cladd Material and Nace

I need to order a Amine regeneration Tower for our refinery. Existing tower is carbon steel 516-Gr 70 and new will be sa-264 clad,SA-240 3126L on 516 GR70N backing material. I have question regarding new clad tower: Do we need to apply any NACE requirements and if yes which NACE Standard. Regards,

    Rectangular opening in pressure vessel

there will be no pressure, this vessel will be like skirt for above vessel untill inspection shinish. then they will decide to use the vessel or change it. to answer to your question they are not replace piece untill inspection finiches. the only load will be weight from top vessel and...

    Rectangular opening in pressure vessel

jtseng123 thanks for answering my question. The purpose of the opening is to cut a sample to inspect shell plate. So they need to cut big chunk of shell to do inspection (microscopic inspection) which they could not do it in place. This exercise is different from Man way and duct opening. So...

    Rectangular opening in pressure vessel

Actually they try to cut abround opening, but it seem they need to cut huge part 47"x17" in 121" ID cylinder. the rectangular has four round corner. so what i undrestand from your reply is that i can calculate an opening with equal diameter of ~50" which is eaual to diagonal of the rectangular?

    Rectangular opening in pressure vessel

Dear All My client has vessel and they want to make rectangular opening into the shell. so both PVelite and Compress can not calculate stress on shell due to rectangular Cut/opening( correct me if i am wrong) even nozzle pro . so i wonder if any one here knows any reference to calculate...

    Spot radiography "UW-11(a)5(b) VS UW-11(b)"

Dear all My Question is about difference between UW-11(a)5(b) and UW-11(b), both is about spot radiography or not? and when we use type 1 of both what would be the E (joint efficiency? Thanks

Impact test of saddle and wear plate

Dear all we are designing a vessel which is required to due impact test , normalized, and grain refinement, i wonder if we should do the same exercise for the saddle and wear plate.

    Design MDMT Vs Rated MDMT

i wonder if any one can explain what is the differences between design MDMT and Rated MDMT? which one we use as base to determine if impact test is require for vessel or not?
