I got a little hurried and misspelled SolidWorks Explorer! So to clarify, this is concerning the SolidWorks search in SW Explorer and/or SolidWorks.

I couldn't get the search to work, so there may be a topic on this already.
I just read a SW Tech Tip article http://www.solidworks.com/pages/services/Tech_Tips/TT_SolidWorks-Explorer.html
It stated that:
Well, the wildcard doesn't work for me. Is there a special syntax(other than the normal...
pdybeck,
Oh, I see. Yes that would likely work. I'll have to try that.
I'm changing it in the print dialog box. There's a button that says "Line Weights". There you can enter the weights in inches for Thin, Normal, etc. I'm not sure where you access that in the Options, but it's a system...
pdybeck,
Thanks for the reply. I figured as much. The only difference in my experience is that changing the line weights DOES NOT change the line thickness in Shaded with Edges views. Hidden lines Visible views act correctly, but not shaded with edges.
Sigh....

I further discovered that its only on the Shaded with Edges display. Hidden lines visible is appropriately affected by the Line Weights settings.

I was playing a little, and I changed the Normal line weight in the print dialog to the same thickness as the Thin. Its .007in. Then I printed a drawing, but nothing changed. Somehow, changing the line weight is not affecting the print.

Not to be sarcastic Scott, but the preview never looks fine! I never use it because it really doesn't tell me how its going to look. In this case, it's not even showing me the view, just the BOM and balloons.
Also, that's fine if its the driver, but why would it be one way previously, then...
Hello,
I've noticed that the lineweights are heavier since upgrading to sp4.0. I do my drawings in Shaded with Visible Edges, printed as High Quality. I haven't checked the other display types, but it sure makes the drawings look tacky. It seems like it's only doing this on our large format...
I can't seem to find the links you're referring to. The first is broken, you then followed with another that worked, but I can't find the Batch rename in SolidWorks link

I have a shortcut key, but I want to apply the mate without opening the Property Manager. Similar to a SmartMate, but different in that it would default to the existing distance (like the mate command).
Thanks,

Hello,
I'm attempting to write a macro that would apply a distance mate. I want it to default to the current distance between faces. The problem is I don't know how to get that distance. I've only found the ModelDoc::ToolsDistance method, which doesn't seem to return a value. The other option...
Select the part you want to rotate, activate the Rotate component command(on the Assembly Command Manager)., and select About Entity from the drop down box in the Property Manager. You can then select the appropriate feature which you want to rotate around.

Sripri,
You could also-depending on how your assembly structure is-suppress all the mates on the part that needs to be at the assembly origin, move it to the correct location, fix that part then, correct any mate errors.
This would work the best if all components are built off of each other...
Question on the SPR List and Lookup page...are the SPR's listed the only thing that has been addressed or are there other issues that are not mentioned. I've not had problems with anything on the list, but there are several items I'm waiting on. It's not worth the time if the only thing...
