Hi Ian,
Thank you for your time. It is much much appreciated.
A 2D (and certainly not 3D) FEA commercial license is not something I've got access to, but I'm in 100% agreement that this exercise certainly warrants it. This is without a doubt the most indeterminate structure I've been asked...
Hello to the group.
I've got a precast rectangular tank that I am trying to analyze. The tanks are cast in two sections, a top and a bottom. The slabs are integrelly cast with the walls, forming essentially a two-way slab with a continuous knee-wall around the perimeter. The tanks range in...
TerryScan I believe I now understand your answer. Thank you
If the pipe segments WERE NOT included as Tc segments, the subcatchment would need to be broken up into a smaller subcatchment that is draining towards the inlet of an insignificant storage pond. This way the hydrology model would...
Hi all,
I'm having a senior moment. I can't recall the BestPractice with regards to Tc segments through a subcatchment.
I prefer to model catchbasins, drain manholes and the piping using insignificant-storage ponds.
But... should these pipe segments be included as Tc segments as well?
Or...
Thank you Peter.
I understand fully. The head that may model was developing over the level lip was precisely why I asked... was not sure if the broad crested weir coefficients would make any difference.
I'll be modeling my Level Spreaders as sharp crests from now on.
Thank you very much...
Hi everyone,
In HydroCAD, I'd like to model my typical level spreader as a pond with insignificant storage.
My preferred level spreader design incorporates a level "lip" that is usually 10 to 20 feet long, with a height of 1 foot.
My preferred profile is 1:1 on the upstream side, and 4:1 on the...
So civeng80... how'd you make out?
My guess is that you eventually did your stakeout from an offset station.

Yeah, I saw it was $3 cheaper at ASTM, but I allready had an account with techstreet, and I am getting tired of having som much email from so many vendors. It's worth an extra $3 to not have to sign up for yet one more stupid email bombardment list.

cvg - As usual: You were right exactly on-the-money!
Thanks very much!
I have purchased D-448 from www.techstreet.com for a mere $35.
The best $35 I ever spent.

Hello.
I am putting together a set of specifications for permeable pavement, and a few of the paver-stone manufacturers have suggested which aggregates to use as subbases.
I have seen the following called out:
"ASTM No.8"
"ASTM No.2"
"ASTM No.57"
Which standard would I purchase from either...
You need two ponds in HydroCad.
Model the first as a standard hole in the ground, but the only outlet will be exfiltration.
The calculated infiltration rate that you might come up with is what you will want to use. But the infiltration rate that your review agency will allow you to use might...
So, no, there is no "simple" solution. :)
But, VTeng: do you have a text book or internet URL that you can share that defines the flow rate that Jiang determined?
Might it be found in some state's Storm water manual possibly?
Thanks,
Craig

I have specified siltsoxx in the past for site erosion control, and I feel very comfortable with them.
As this thread is not a "soxx vs. silt fence" discussion, I will keep my comments around the soxx. They install FAST!!!! Sure, the "certified installer" might sound expensive, but their...
