Thanks for all the help with my huuuge file problem!
Nothing worked until someone told me to try deleting All objects, Save, and then Oops. It worked where nothing else did. Strange~!
My file size dropped from the 18mb it had worked itself up to and ended up at a filesize of 625kb.

Well, here is one to chew on . . .
Our city maps (AutoCAD, dwn in R12, now editing in R2009 or R2011) generally run between 250kB and 700kB. But several are running from 9mB to 24mB. When opening one of these behemoths, the screen generates in a couple of seconds, but loading continues, along...
Take my word for it . . . this is an Annotative Scaling issue. Annotative Scaling affects many objects other than text, and if you have not set up one of your "spaces" for Annotative Scaling, then the objects from the other "space" will not show up on it.

1. Make a new object in Layout, Mspace
2. Open the Model Tab
3. The new object is not there. Multiple times, different new objects.

We know that the new object was drawn on the Layout in Mspace . . .

Chicopee . . .
For quite a while, we have been trying to use an acad.lin file on our network, where all CADders can use a common file. This is the customized one . . . the other acad.lin files (in Program Files, and in Documents & Settings) were the generic, unmodified ones.
The problem was...
If you don't find an actual Velcro hatch, try the AutoCAD hatch called, "ANGLE". Rotate it 45 degrees, and adjust the scale, and WALLA!

Cheers . . .
Thanks for all the help! AutoCAD now knows which of 3 acad.lin files to use, and it is the one we customized.
The problem before was that I knew I had at least 3 acad.lin files in various places, and could not tell which one AutoCAD was using. I ended up altering the search files path in...
