Hi Bimr
the tank is a large one 2000 m3 which I chlorinated at 10 ppm free chlorine.
My question is theoretical:
if I had left the isolation valve on the 10 inch pipe to the Fire Fighting pumps open which is at the bottom of the tank, how fast will the chlorine diffuse into the pipe. there...
Supposed I have a tank full of chlorinated water with 10 ppm free chlorine in it in the form of Ca(OCl)2. pH is 7.5.
there is a 10 inch pipe connected to the tank
how fast in m/hr will the chlorine diffuse into the pipe?
is there a way to calculate a linear diffusion rate in the pipe...
I read here

that a swimming pool pump designed in line with an EU Directive slated to come into force in 2015 won an innovation award in the Plovdiv Technical Fair this week.
any one have any idea what is special about this design ? this...
quick tip: u can take a water sample and add some bleach (Eau Du Javel, sodium hypochlorite) and see if any more iron comes from solution. this way u will know of u have Ferrous or Ferric only.
As for your theory of Bacteria, you have to prove that; the flocs may be just FeOH3. To check if the...
BIMR is it correct to conclude then that raw sewage (black water) in itself does not contain the required bacteria to be treated properly? that you need storm water that has come into contact with earth to seed the sludge with the needed aerobic bacteria?

forget the books man
read all the technical documents on the sites of DOW, Hydranautics, Koch Membrane, Toray and the like
lots od useful info there

could be, might also be Hydrocarbons for oil/grease emulsion removal
but I woule like to know for sure. I cannot find the EU standard that is mentionning these classes
rami
C = BOD removal
H = ????
N = Nitrification
D = Denitrification
P = Phosphorus removal
Any one know what the H stands for in European waste water pollutant reduction standards???
thanks

hi BIMR
this system is the piping system after the storage tanks for desal water (desalinated sea water using MSF desalination). no corrosion inhibitor is currently being used.
the potable water system comes downstream. also there the LSI is -ve despite the remin filters. the pH is too low...
hey guys
i have a galvanized steel network for my desalinated sea water in which i found about 3.8 ppm of Zinc is this a sign of corrosion? is galvanized steel a bad choice of material for desal water (conductivity about 10 uS/cm)? Should I be dosing phosphate as a corrosion inhibitor?
i...
