Hi all, I hope everyone is enjoying Easter!
Is there an automatic way to delete duplicate lines/curves from an NX part? I've extracted curves from a tessellation of polyhedra (that I can't change to prevent duplicate lines in the first place) to sweep tubes across. Of course, each edge of a...
Hello,
First let me say this is just a 'tentative' question, a 'how possible is this...' sort of question! I'm currently using NX 6.0.
I have a set of polyhedra that tessellate in 3D space that I would like to trim to a set of surfaces (or intersect with a solid). It looks like to do this...
Hello,
I'm trying to render a model in NX 5.0.5.3. While attempting to add shadows to the spotlight in advanced lighting, NX crashes with
"Internal error: memory access violation"
Granted this is a little vague, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Thanks for the tips. The nature of the structure means that the plate technique will not work, nor is it regular. The improvements to the Unite feature in NX6 sounds promising, I'll look forward to my organisation obtaining it.
Cheers
Hello,
So, I've got a huge array of cylinders positioned in a 3D structure (Think 3D spider's web). I'm fairly confident that each cylinder touches its neighbours and so if I were to manually perform a series of Unions then I would get a single solid body out of it at the end. That would take...
Hello, another question!
Is it possible (through snap points or expressions) to draw a line that is a specified percentage of another line's length? I don't want to reference a specific line, but say, the line that is currently selected. I am making a UDF that is based on the selection of a...
Thanks guys.
I thought this may be the only method. I've had success with the lasso tool and polygon selection in the past. The main problem I've had is with soft-edged shadows. Thanks for your suggestions.
Hello,
I've looked through CAST, so I'm guessing this is unlikely, but is it possible to render a scene in NX with a transparent background? I'd like to render a part in NX and import it into Photoshop where I can insert my own backgrounds. I'm already aware of the ability to insert background...
John,
Arcs, conics AND splines if possible! Do helixes come under conics? The ability to select helixes would be great, too. I'll start looking a VB then for programming these kinds of functions into NX.
Many thanks,
James
John,
I've just had a look at the GRiP prgramme you've written. It's fantastic! It is almost exactly what I want!
I have noticed a few odd little glitches though. The first time I tried the programme, I wasn't able to view the created geometry in shaded mode, only in wireframe mode. Also...
