Another method I use is to create the mirrored part. Open the new mirrored part file then insert bends under the sheet metal menu. This will make the part a sheet metal part with bend information that can be flattend etc.
Another Solution I have found to work pretty well is Autodesk ImageStudio. It renders very well & quickly and features direct connect to your Solidworks files. It was created by Alias the makers of Maya before Audoesk bought them.
My company completely switched from AcadR13 to Solidworks back in 2001. I have been using DWGEditor for wiring diagrams and layouts ever since. DWGEditor is more buggy and a little less frendly to use than ACAD but it gets the job done. There definately are some querks to it though.

I'm not much of a hardware expert so which setup is better?
Specifically for rendering.

There is a link on the Solidworks Website for a rendering Webcast. The Rendering software is called Hypershot from Bunkspeed. Has anyone seen this yet.
I have been using Autocad since r11 and Solidworks since 2001. DWGEditor is like a stripped down more buggy version of Acad. I gets the job done although I have had more crashes with it than with Solidworks itself. I agree with Gildashard in regard to the undo issue. I have come across the...
My company has old Autocad files with multiple viewports. When opening these files in DWGeditor 2007 sp2.0 The viewport borders are visible even though the layer i.e.VP is turned off or frozen. Has anyone seen this also?
How do I create a new material in Photoworks 2007 similar to a mesh in which parts of the material is removed? I'm trying to create a slot pattern in a rendering without adding the slot pattern in the model.
Thanks in advance

In 2006 drawings, when I added a second sheet I was able to have the second sheet default to my second sheet format. Now that I have 2007 installed it no longer defaults to my second sheet format. Either I have forgotten the right way of setting this up or it has changed in 2007. Any ideas?
I continuously have this problem where I set up a room size and change the floor offset to 0 in the scene setup. These dimensions will reset back to Photoworks defaults if I make any other changes. I then get the message "Please enter a valid number" twice. I do get it to work but only after a...
Thanks. I found that I have to export each configuration separately as an STL. To use in an assembly I would have to import the file as a dummy part them export the assembly in stl format. Seems to work fine that way.
