Based on the above...
I guess by critical point dcasto means the point at which all the 3 phases co-exist.
I would be more interested to know about this unfortunate thing about the gases.Can anyone throw more light on it please...
For gases at low pressures ( atm. pressure - few bars),
mole percent is equal to volume percent. Because we know that at low pressures all gases behave like ideal gases.

The basic application and intent of the safety relief valve installed on a pressure vessel is to safeguard the very design of the vessel so, u may choose to satisfy either of them....

I think if it were a flashing line, the 2-phase flow will be much higher than 10% in case you propose to throttle the control valve bypass manually.
This may eventually lead to serious problem of cavitation.
Am I overstating anything here?

All said and done as eloberated already, i have my doubts in the practice of venting the steamed out vapors into the atmosphere.
Don't you think it is unsafe to vent the mixture of hydrocarbons and steam to the atmosphere wherever you feel like.
I feel venting shall be to a safe location in...
