Thanks buzzp. I was told by the Burkert people that both the valve and the solenoid have to be special. I am not sure I trust the answer though. My observation is that the technical expertise of the average industrial supplier is going down not up and all to often they don't know what they are...
I have seen them used with mixed results. They can significantly increase the load on the GB and walking beam, have issues in cold weather and are not nearly as robust as the pumpiong unit driving them. Often the extra load requires upsizing the pumping unit which destroys the economics. In...
I am looking for 1/4 " solenoid valves that are designed to be driven by a PWM signal. There are lots of Hydraulic valves avalable but the only Pneumatic I can find is Burkert. Looking for 2 and 3 way stainless good for 100 psi
Depends on pump, depth and speed. Generally the suppliers - Weatherford, Wilson etc all have predictive programs which tell you how much. Rough number would be to assume overall system efficiency of 50% (be sure to add line pressure to pumping head)
One could use a light duty (koller, briggs etc) engine for running a pump jack but the normal rules apply - can't get something for nothing. These engines are designed primarily for consumer use in low hour applications. It is difficult to get over 1000 hour befor significant rebuild costs are...
