I had some problem with input data and now it is fine. As you said, in my case i have only applied stress which is equivalent to von-mises.

I did this analysis with abaqus crushable foam model(Zero - Poisson Ratio). From my stress- strain curve, I calculated yield stress and plastic strain(kind of input needed by abaqus) and did the analysis.
Vonmises/nominal strain curve approx. matches with yieldstress/nominal...

I want to do static loading test. But, due to complicated contact, analysis is not converging. So, i would like to use general contact algorithm (which is possible only in Dynamic explicit) but loading should be static. How could it be acheived? Is it possible? Hope i am not so stupid...

Sorry.I should have been more clear. I am interested only in stresses in certain (BC) areas due to this sudden loading. (not in eigenfreq or modes).

For a dynamic analysis on automobile component, i have the following inputs.
Accleration: 24 G and 30 ms(continuously).
Mesh: shell (40000 elements)
Material: Linear. But geometric nonlinearity presents as per static loading analysis.
Do i need mass scaling as mentioned in abaqus...
