The Tick solved the underling problem,... SW '99 just doesn't cut it! He was able to join the two solids without a problem in SW '03 and I was able to use that file to stay on schedule! :-)
In the mean time,...
I'm using the ACAD extruded text, to trace new sketches of the characters (it's a...
I'm transitioning from ACAD to SW, the logo-text and lid were built in ACAD.
It all would have been much easier to do in SW from the onset but the project was completed in ACAD and I'm now in the revision process. I'm working with SW '99, '03 is now in the budget for this year but in the mean...
I have distiller also, from Excel, this allows a <Print> to PDF, once the print setup has distiller selected as the print device.

The DAC will work and so will an ADC to monitor your circuit. Yeah, it's pretty complicated for an LM circuit but if it's for fun, then have at it!

I'm joining 2 objects in an assembly, a text logo, mated to the top outside surface of an instrument case lid.
When they join, the top surface of the case disappears, the surface on the other side (0.1" wall thickness) and the sides of the lid look fine.
The join parameters were:

TheTick found it!
My settings were to limited to see the drawing error that caused the face to be off parallel!
In his words,...
It is off in the 7th or 8th decimal place (yes, that's enough to booger things up).
When I checked the angle, it was 90.0 degress, but the
accuracy was set for only...
Thanks for the reply,
I deleted all mates and the assembly is made of parts, no sub assemblies (so no mates there).
Can SW place mates somewhere else?
Thanks, DC
My assembly has 6 parts, 2 of them (body and compartment door) were derived from a base part (not part of the assembly). The body will not mate up completely, with any other parts. The door has no problems.
I can make the body concentric with a pipe but if I then try to set the distance...
