You can always tell if somebody is old or young by the way they file things. Ask them to find something for you.
If young: They will immediately turn to their computer,
If Old: It is guaranteed they have a hard copy in a drawer or stack of papers somewhere that they can find just as fast.
lottol,
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question (different department), but if you are chilling the air intakes of a turbine, I suggest you check out my company web site. This is our bread and butter.

Abba,
Simply put,
Schedules refer to the wall thickness of the pipe and which in turn refer to the I.D. of the pipe.
Threadolets and Sockolets engage the outside of the pipe and is why there are not typically refered to with schedules. The O.D. of the pipe never changes.
I can't find a...
To comment on Ashereng post,
One thing I learned in the Boy Scouts was when a group was out hiking, you always put the slowest and weakest in the front of the group. This way the stronger and faster people could be encouraging them the whole way. It was also to keep the group from being...
Anybody using Isogen with Solidworks.
I am familiar with Isogen, I just can't find any information out there with people who are using it with Solidworks.

If you really got good acad 3D skills I suggest looking at Coade's Cadworx Pipe. It sits on top of AutoCAD and is pretty user friendly yet completely customizable at the same time.
You can almost start using it straight out of the box also.
You definitely can't beat it on the price side...
I am in Houston and tried contacting them many times to get some information out of them. Shut I even used to be a member.
3 years ago I took their plant layout class and PDS level 1 class and I don't remember having any problems getting ahold of them.
I tried calling SPED the other day and got no answer and when I tried their email it bounced back to me.
The website I have for them wwww.spedweb.com
Anyone know if they are still around.

I appreciate all the help from...

I am trying to open each part file from one master assembly file and export specific cut list properties from each body to an excel spread sheet would be nice, text delimited file would be just as good.
It seems that the other macros that I am using the file has...
Thanks alexit,
The only problem I got now is defining the new variables that you put in.
I am guessing the following:
dim swModDoc as sldworks.modeldoc2
dim filetyp as long
dim strPrt as long
dim part as object
dim longstatus as long
dim longwarnings as long
Dim swModelDoc As...
I am giving a shot at this API stuff and so far really like it but I am having a hard time with the following.
I want to open up each part file no matter how deep an a assembly file. Run a special macro that I have, and then close the file.
I am using the traverse assembly macro out of the...
The best way to learn is to work with somebody or several people who are willing to teach you and answer all your questions while doing actual projects. These people and companies are out there.
Count on this being at least a 5-10 year process at least to learn petro/chem or refinery piping to...
