He mentioned how to convert from inches to millimeters.
That is it. To convert from one unit to another or
even add a unit all you have to do is go to your
dimstyles or setvar's.

primary units. You can figure it our from there.

Coming from a surveyor that is his symbol for tree.
There's nothing you can do unless you have his database
file that translates code into symbols. This is a big
problem in Civil Engineering and transferring data between
surveyors and Engineering firms.
Chances are he has Carlson Surveying...
If you have symbol manager look into that, otherwise
its probably a model space, paper space issue.
Sounds like your symbol is being set at a scale before
its entered into the drawing which also might be
affected by your ltscale.
Sometimes your first set-up a drawing your ltscale will effect...
2006 Civil 3D can help you out if you have the software
same with 2005 Civil 3D.
Like Carl said you need some type of surface or contours
to be able to do it on CAD.
There's always the manual way of calculating slopes.

If AutoCAD has approximately 400,00 users and
has gone down in the last two years from 480,000
and Solidworks just went over 230,000 users with
their 2003 version how does that add up to

It seems the design table needs to be updated when

I did some more checking into the Vapor Barriers
and it is NOT recommended that you place a
vapor barrier or vapor retarder it most situations.

Some contractors have suggested or actually
adding styrofoam around and beneath a foundation
for insulation. From what I understand this is
considered a vapor barrier which causes condensation
to build up between the styrofoam and foundation
